[Proposal] Working Group - Storytelling

Hidden Blossoms

The Frappe Community is like a thriving garden.

New plants grow, flowers bloom, and the garden becomes more vibrant each day.

But the hidden blossoms often go unseen.

  1. Who are the quiet gardeners shaping the future?
  2. Which plants are transforming the ecosystem?

The Vision

Every contribution has a face, a voice, and a story.

Let’s make the Frappe Community Quality Rich with Stories.

The Plan

  • Directory → Plants (Products) - Stories of Every Feature, Gardeners (Members) - Customers, Providers, and Contributors Profiles linked with Documentaries / Feedback

  • The Book → A curated archive of these blossoms for the future

Why Me

As Frappepreneur, I’ve been experimenting, learning, and sharing openly:

Love to hear your feedback - Let’s shine a light so every blossom can be seen and celebrated

@Kaviya_Periyasamy, here is my feedback.

I like the premise of this working group, since I am fascinated by the importance of storytelling in getting our brand across to the world.

The metaphor of “Hidden Blossoms” beautifully captures the essence of uncovering and celebrating the often-overlooked stories.

Need more clarity:

  • How would the working group function? (I’m asking this because I don’t have a mental model of a similar working group.)
  • How is content generated? Do people just send you content, with a panel that reviews it? Or does the working group go out to collect stories and produce content?
  • Who can join it? What kind of work and time commitment can working group members expect? And how do you see people collaborating in this working group?
  • What kind of content do you want to host, and where will it be hosted? Would you allow people to host content on their own blogs and channels and link it here?
  • With “average quality” content being ubiquitous, especially with AI generation, what is the group’s vision or method to curate and highlight content that emotionally connects with people? (And how do you prevent it from becoming a dumping ground for content?)
  • How do you prevent this from becoming yet another listing where people show up just to get more leads? Or is that the actual idea behind this? (Not that listings for leads are bad, but it might miss the “Hidden Blossoms” vibe we’re going for.)

PS: The metaphor of blossoms, plants, garden, and gardener is good and all. But I feel that to get clarity on the working group, we can initially limit its usage to a paragraph or two.

Thanks for the Feedback, @karthikeyan5

The above one is just a quick proposal to reflect the storytelling theme.

Storytelling Model

Flow: Listen → Create → Share → Celebrate

  1. Production Team
  • Writers, video shooters, editors.
  • Go city by city, meet people, listen to experiences
  • Let contributors speak in their own words first; the team enhances the narrative without overwriting it.
  1. Review Circle
  • Members: Frappe Team + Few community-elected reps.
  • Maintain authenticity, ensure alignment with “Hidden Blossoms” spirit.
  1. Story Pipeline
  • Focus: 1-2 stories per month.
  • Listing: Active directory for easy search & discovery
  • Community can also nominate “hidden blossoms.”
  • Diversity and inclusivity will guide story selection to ensure voices from varied backgrounds and geographies are represented.
  1. Hosting Platform
  • Stories will be published on a single primary medium (TBD, e.g., Community Portal or YouTube playlist) with consistent formatting to ensure long-term discoverability.

Note: While opportunities or collaborations may naturally emerge, our primary focus remains on celebrating authentic journeys.

If you have any suggestions to enhance this further, please do share.

“Storytelling” is a very abstract topic for a working group. It is more of a skill than an outcome or something you can show progress towards.

Maybe “Evangelism” could be the one? Then you can have “deliverables” like: videos, SM posts, blogs, conference attendance, etc.

Yeah, it’s a blend of Evangelism + Storytelling. It also needs to be authentic and organic. Let’s wait for more input from community members and conclude on the working group name?

Like this, because I have mulled a bit on evangelism, and how to approach it for the region.

Sounds interesting! Since you’ve already mulled it over, what kind of approach do you think would work best?

Nothing much. Just thought maybe a dedicated evangelist for the region would work. Yet to actualize it.

"This is a beautiful vision, Kaviya. The metaphor of the garden perfectly captures what we are trying to achieve in the ecosystem.

I would love to contribute to this by focusing on the ‘Nurturing’ aspect. My expertise lies in training young graduates (BBA, BCom, and MBA) to build careers within the Frappe/ERPNext universe. If the community is a garden, these graduates are the young saplings who will eventually become the ‘gardeners’ (consultants and providers) of tomorrow.

By syncing my training initiatives with your storytelling working group, we can:

  • Document the Journey: Share stories of how a fresh graduate transforms into a skilled ERPNext professional.

  • Humanize the Ecosystem: Show the ‘faces’ of the new generation entering the Frappe world.

  • Create Value: Help businesses see that there is a growing, skilled workforce ready to support them.

I’m excited to see how we can archive these ‘growth stories’ together!"
