Purchases made via directors' loan account

Hello all the smart people on the forum, have a question regarding directors’ loan account: is it possible to allow payment made directly out of a liability account such as the directors’ loan account?

As a small firm with no employee but a single director / shareholder, a lot of times we have to make purchases for the company paid directly by the directors that should simply credit the directors’ loan account. Xero allows this so wanted to check if there is a setting. Currently we are having to create a shadow cash account, pretend that the directors had wired the cash and use that cash to make the actual payment and then do a journal entry that credits the directors’ loan account and debits the cash account…
