I am investigating the Healthcare module
And I am looking at applying the “Therapy type” doc.
I noticed that “Item” is a read-only. It doesn’t make sense ? Because now I cannot
select the applicable Item related to this Therapy type ??
And to make it worst … its a mandatory field. SO I cannot skip it.
Perhaps I am missing something ?
I figured it out…
When you create a Therapy type, you enter a new Item code and Item name and in the process of creating a Therapy type, a new Item is created.
For the record, I totally disagree with this way of doing things. It is totally against
how ERPNext functions. Typically , you have to first create an Item . The process
of creating an item is designed to assist the user to select an item-code that does
not already exist. In this case, the user must enter an item-code and because
it is not a field of type “item”, the system does not inform the user that the
entered code already exists.
I trust the DEVS will see this and do something about this. This is totally worng.
Other than that, I had a quick look around and my first impresssion is that it is a very
comprehensive module. I shall report back later when I had a proper look.
