Redis_cache and redis_socketio services are using the same port 13000

Hi,

I noticed that in the file ~/frappe-bench/sites/common_site_config.json that the services redis_cache and redis_socketio are using the same port 13000:

“redis_cache”: “redis://127.0.0.1:13000”,
“redis_socketio”: “redis://127.0.0.1:13000”,

Is this by design?

Hi Sami,

Yes, this can be intentional depending on the Frappe/Bench configuration.

Having both redis_cache and redis_socketio pointing to redis://127.0.0.1:13000 does not necessarily indicate a port conflict. Both settings can reference the same Redis instance.

A port conflict would occur if two separate Redis server processes attempted to listen on port 13000 at the same time. Simply having two configuration entries referencing that port is not a conflict.

If your bench is running normally and you’re not experiencing Redis connection errors or realtime notification issues, there’s no need to change the configuration solely because both settings use the same port
