Request Time Out - When attempting to submit Work Orders

On many work orders in our ERPNext instance when the user clicks “submit” the screen freezes and the document is not submitted. Instead it returns the error " Request timed out."

When I remove operations from the operations tab, I am able to submit the document.

Is there are known solution for this?
