Reverse Proxy for existing ERPNext server

Hi
Does anyone perhaps have a tutorial on setting up a reverse proxy but for an
existing ERPNExt site i.e. the site already has an SSL cert.

many of the docs / guides that I find on the internet , configures the proxy server
as the unit handling the SSL cert as well. I just want the HTTPS traffic to be routed
to an existing ERPNExt ( with SSL ) server

You will also need SSL termination on the proxy server, otherwise it will appear as a Man-in-The-Middle attack.

What part are you struggling with?

Thank you for taking the time @volkswagner

After some more reading and searching I have to admit that my understanding of
a possible solution was incorrect. I am trying to shield an existing server that already has an SSL cert. Hence my thoughts of using a “proxy” without SSL. But you
are right … this will appear suspicous .

I have in the meantime turned to a standard VPN. And I did a test … it seems to be
working fine. So a user would connect to the VPN and then use their browser
normally to access the ERPNExt server. And to the server, it will appear as if the
connection was made from the VPN-IP. So one can set up a firewall and also the
ERPNExt security settings according to the VPN IP add to avoid someone attempting
to connect from an “unauthorized” IP.

I appreciate you taking the time @volkswagner

I tried that with both a public and my own VPN
