Sales Campaign: thoughts? And one particular question

Is anyone using the Campaign form? I'm wondering how you use it and would like to get experiences.

I intend to adapt it for the following: we want to track the sales campaigns we give to customers. We have three types of scopes, (1) customer-specific, (2) national-level, i.e. covers all customers, and (3) multiple customers.

I figure it is possible for users (like us) to add fields to the Campaign form to make it more useful, with fields such as:
  • start date
  • end date
  • budget (float)
  • customer (link) or customer group (link)
  • campaign type
We could even link a sales order to a campaign (I think)... this would be a very powerful tool.

But a couple of questions:
  1. if we were to create a campaign that specifies a customer field or customer group, would it be possible to filter the campaigns that are viewable/selectable when linking from another document, such as a sales order?
  2. what kind of conditions can be used, and where would go about setting these conditions?
Thanks for any thoughts.

Laurence,

Campaign feature could do with a lot of ideas, can you file a feature request for this?

I know the feature request list is expanding quickly (this topic needs to be discussed separately) but we will surely look into this.

best,
