We are trying to use ERPNext for managing the operation of a Dairy like buying raw milk, manufacturing, and selling. Buying and Selling modules are sorted and we are struggling to start the manufacturing module.
I’ll give an example of our processes involved:
- Raw Milk purchased = 10000 litres or 10300 Kg.
- Raw milk has two components Fat% and SNF%.
- In this example, the purchased milk is having 4.1% Fat and 8.3% SNF
- Using the quantity, Fat% and SNF%, Fat Kg & SNF Kg can be found out.
- Fat Kg = (10300Fat%)/100 = (103004.1)/100 = 422.3 Kg. This is to be maintained as inventory.
- SNF Kg = (10300SNF%)/100 = (103008.3)/100 = 854.9 Kg. This is to be maintained as inventory.
- During manufacturing, Quantity, Fat Kg, and SNF Kg will be used.
- Example of manufacturing 1000 litre of toned milk:
- BOM:
- Raw milk of 1030 Kg with 3.1% Fat and 8.1% SNF is required.
- Then the corresponding Fat Kg = 31.93 and SNF Kg = 83.43
- Polyfilm for pouch = 1.2 Kg
- Skim milk powder = 650 grams
- BOM:
- Once the manufacturing is completed, the following should be the inventory:
- Fat Kg = 422.3 – 31.93 = 390.37
- SNF Kg = 854.9 – 83.43 = 771.47
Can these be handled in the default manufacturing module?
