Selling Settings, Item Price List Rate

Dear Team,

Can someone explain the relevance of the following option under Selling Settings?-
Selling Settings > Right hand side > Item Price Settings

‘Allow User to Edit Price List Rate in Transactions’

As long as I have observed I am able to edit the item price rates even when this option is unticked, so can someone please explain ?

I am attaching the screenshot for the same.

When enabled the Allow User to Edit Price List Rate in Transactions then you can edit the Price List Rate on the sales transactions.

Before: (Read Only)

I tried and tested some this explanation on some sales invoices and it is working.
