Serial No generation

Serial Nos.

I just need a clarification.

I have a machine -Finished Goods as

X -Machine -Customer 01
Serial No for X is- 101
Delivery Note is created and Installation Note for X happens
During the installation note serial No is x-101 for this Delivery Note and to this customer.

I need to know for the dispatch of the X machines to the customer 01

Is my serial No going to be X-102?

Please clarify.

It’ll still be X-101. The serial number is tied to the item

How to generate automatically?

My next serial No should be X-102 during the delivery note.
