Entering Serial Nos for every item on a large Stock Entry is very time consuming;
Open the line in the table; scroll down to serial numbers; open the dialog; press AutoFetch; Press Add; Return to the table.
Is there a way of automating this process? For instance a button at the top which says “Serial No Autofetch” and will automatically get the next Serial No for each Item defined as requiring one?
There are a couple of caveats to this.
- I don’t really care which serial numbers are fetched when I’m moving items from stock to WIP, but FIFO is probably the best model for this.
- I care a lot about which serial numbers are fetched when I am doing a Manufacture Stock Entry. This has to be the Serial Nos that I’ve actually used in creating the Manufactured Item. I expect to have to manually select these, unless there is only a single choice in the WIP warehouse (Qty required = Qty available).
