Stock Entry: "Material Transfer", "Manufacture/Repack" --> Product Order Report

Dear experts,

Checked Open Production Order report, just wondering why it is relates to "Material Transfer"(In Stock Entry, it can link to production order if purpose is "Material Transfer" or "Manufacture/Repack")?

What does material transfer implies for a production order?

Thanks very much.
Best Regards,
Yang

Yang,

Products get transferred from Source Warehouse to a Work-in-Progress warehouse during the manufacturing process. So it requires Material Transfer, i.e. warehouse to warehouse transfer.

Manufacture/Repack is about taking a bunch of raw materials in Work-in-Progress warehouse and making a final product based on Bill of Materials, which could also be put into "Finished Good" warehouse in the same transaction.

Why Material Transfer involves production order(production order report checks that)? any realistic scenario? I'm confused :(

Material Transfer can be with or without Production Order, but Production Order can only have either Material Transfer or Manufacture/Repack entries.

Does that make sense?
