Streamline sales order and purchase process


I have been evaluating ERPNext and it seems that it is very keyboard driven for processing sales and purchases. Is there any way to use barcode scanners more easily? I don’t like the idea of having to click on the item and then scan the barcode?

I tried the point of sale view but it does not allow editing of prices? It would be far more helpful to have the barcode field in the item list and for the item list to work more link how traditional apps handle form and master elements. I see that this is kind of available in version 7 but the barcode field is still absent. Is there any way to include it?
