Support Request: Nested Section/Column Layouts for Complex Form Designs

Hi Frappe Team and Community,

I hope you’re all doing well.

While working with the Form Builder to create more complex and structured form layouts, I ran into a limitation: it seems we cannot nest a Section inside another Section, or place a Section inside a Column. This constraint is making it difficult to replicate compact and user-friendly designs that are essential for optimizing space and improving usability.

To illustrate the challenge, I’ve attached an image comparing two form layout designs:

I’d like to ask the following:

  1. Is there any existing workaround to achieve nested or more modular layouts in the current Form Builder?
  2. Are there any plans in the roadmap to introduce support for nested Sections or Columns for advanced form layouting?
  3. Would the core team consider enabling nesting capabilities in Form Builder to support more flexible UI designs?

Any suggestions, guidance, or community-shared solutions would be greatly appreciated.

I agree, that it is a great additive at some point, for sure, to be able to choose the columns miniaturely.

I went to less, that also only with this small change we have many possibilities for many cases, you could upload the issue in github.
