Translation Issues in Korean

Every translation of the guy ‘Umair87’ that’s approved by Frappe is literally a trolling translation. Every his input is Google Translate, and it makes zero sense.

For an instance, the posted says “S.O. No.” and his translation is “Starting from a negative.”

There is “is child table” translation by him, and that was done like “is that a child table?” in Korean. He literally used Google Translation and just copy-pasted it.

Please purge his translations. It makes things horrible.

Hi,

Thanks for review.

We have been using machine-translation to get the first cut of the translation to ease the job of the reviewers. Indeed, the machine-translations won’t be 100% accurate, but bulk of it has seems to have helped the reviewers. If you are keen it translate, we can remove translations, esp. for the un-approved ones, so that you can translate from scratch. I have removed translation for the one highlighted in specific.

Hello. Thank you for answering - and my apologies for offensive wording. I thought a random person messed up.

For those ones, I can recognise the translations of other languages have the same issue. For instance, the chinese one says “不” which means negative/not/no, but we know it’s saying numbering. It should be a letter meaning “counting”, not “negative” I saw something like this, and I figured I was recalling incorrectly… Nevermind this…

Also, I figured even DeepL (that is proven to make high quality translations) cannot recognise the context.

Thus, for your own sake, I recommend you to purge machine translations…. Especially if that was done by non-native person. I find your framework Frappe is awesome and meantime the presentation did not go well becauae of the translation, and it might have been better if it was just Englisg only…

Since you left a new translation, I must say this - DeepL doesn’t know the context and it cannot be trusted even if its translation quality is good in general.

숫자 means unspecified numbers, meantime we need to use "번호” in this case to mean organised numbers (because sales order numbers are organised). “S.O.” is Sales Order, but DeepL did not translate. It reads awful still…

also, please remove this translation too…

By the way, there seems to be a dedicated person and his translations are decent but none of theirs is accepted. I am curious how your accepting process works…

The auto-translations are done by non-native people.. Please go ahead and correct the translations wherever possible. The corrections from non-native people won’t be perfect as it would be done using similar tools, (machines) :expressionless:. Respects for all the languages.

Crowdin needs approver to be a different person for the community who can review and accept the translations of the first person. If we have an active member from Korean community, we could give Approval rights to them. A public profile of contribution will be helpful in validating.

I might be interested in. I am not sure if I will be active for long, but I’d be interested to accept and remove some current translations… Do you have any application form?
