Variable Raw Material quantity in BOM

Hi,

I need help with the below scenario please:

I have a BOM for a Finished Good (say a printed T-Shirt). The T-Shirt’s material list is: 1 - Blank T-Shirt, 1 - Label and, X square cm of printing. The Operations are: Printing and Packaging.

Since the quantity required for printing is X, due to the fact customers can select any design(s), how can I manage the variable quantity in BOM and during production?
