For warehouse sub-location, you can utilize tree-view master of Warehouse. Add location as a group and sub-locations as a child warehouse in it.
shouldnt the parent warehouse if set as default website warehouse for an item, display the total stock for that item from all the sub warehouses? the use case is to display item stock qty from its warehouses.
