What Happens When the CPU Hour Limit is Reached on Frappe Cloud?

I can not find any reliable official information. Some materials say there will be HTTP 437 Too Many Requests. Other state that “Daily limit usage reached” message will be displayed. Other state there is throttling (slower performance). Can anyone tell me the actual state in 2026, please?

Also, if the limit is reached, can we buy a better plan immediately and the users can continue their work immediately? Or even when we buy a better plain in such a situation, the users can continue only after the midnight?

HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) is the real response when the daily CPU-hours limit is hit not throttling, and not “437.” Frappe Cloud resets the counter at midnight (your site’s timezone), and warns you by email at 80% usage.

If you exceed DB/Disk limits instead, the site gets suspended.

If you upgrade your plan, your quota increases immediately (Frappe Cloud) users don’t have to wait for midnight.
