What is the difference between parent account and root type ? Also what does Is Group in the COA ?

@kabangaba parent account is the direct parent group in the tree . root type is the type of first node created for a branch , for example a group of liability accounts . and it’s different from the account type . is_group just means that this is a parent account so it cannot be used as a normal account .
when creating account using the button ‘add child’ from the tree view , all these fields will be automatically filled , except the account type .

Thanks, well am trying to import a COA and am not sure how to go about it, can i share it with you to match it to the COA in erpnext ?

@kabangaba you have to start from the parents . then their children and so on .

Thanks, would you know if there is a way i can import quickbooks chart of accounts into erpnext
