When using v8 global search, contacts do not show up

I’ve just upgraded to v8, wonderful ! But with the new global search, I was thinking that if I type in a name of a contact that if the contact exists then it would be shown in the results. This is not the case though.

Is this by design or not? I understand that there is a config that can be set to allow doctypes to be shown in the global search results or not, but I would have expected that contacts would definately be shown.

I think I found the answer. Some contacts did show up. Some didnt. I found that any contact that had no Status ie was blank, did not appear in the search results. Once I set Status to passive the contact appeared on a search. So sort of a bug .
