How have you setup the credentials? Did you follow the steps specified here?

Two-Step Process:

  1. You have to generate fresh set of credentials from E-invoice portal specifically for ERPNext Application. The credentials you were using for Tally/Busy/Zoho/Odoo will NOT work for ERPNext. Refer: Setting Up API | India Compliance

  2. The NEW credentials have to be set-up in the ERPNext GST Settings at: /app/gst-settings
