Why can't edit Salutation doctype entries?

It is not possible to edit existing entries in Salutation doctype, as name field is not visible. Is it permissions issue?
Same problem occurs in Gender doctype.

Hi @jacobro,

Since the Salutation field is treated as an ID and is designated as a unique field, once it is initially created, it will no longer be visible when accessing any existing Salutation record. This scenario is also applicable to the Gender doctype. Once a unique entry is established for the Gender field, it will not be displayed upon opening any other Gender record.

Thank You @NCP that is explanation. So, solution is to tweak mentioned doctypes to have other unique ID and another field for salutation name, right?
