Contabo is quite very cheap with 99% , the frappe can get more jobs and revenue when using less costly hosting unlike what they are currently doing they prices are not competative at all .
look at those prices , l have been using contabo for 4 years now , l was reffered to contabo on this platform , a lot of people use it .
For you to be mentioning Contabo as an alternative for an Enterprise hosting solution shows you need to stay away from this topic.

I bought a notebook and pencil at the stationary store and it’s been working great for me. I don’t know why you all even bother with an ERP.
I use Contabo only for development and testing—not for production or client projects. The main issue with Contabo is reliability. If the server goes down for any reason, it takes a long time to get support. We often have to raise multiple tickets, and getting the VPS back online can be a frustrating process. This makes it hard to respond to customers quickly.
On the other hand, Frappe Cloud uses reliable servers like AWS and Oracle Cloud, which offer much better uptime and performance. For a live system, even a 5 to 30-minute downtime can seriously impact the customer’s business.
So while cheaper hosting like Contabo can save money, it often leads to more downtime, more maintenance work, and unhappy clients.

To solve som downtime you may have with Contabo in my cases we live database cloning and among around 100 clients l have , maybe once in 2 months can have a downtime of 3 to 24 hrs for at least 3 cleints
but one way or the other , frappe cloud’s pricing is not competative consindering its not its main business

Just saw a post by Odoo of their €20/user/month pricing. And this was them throwing shade at overpriced ERPs

“Expensive” is subjective. It depends on your business nature—how critical ERP is to you, will your operations halt if your ERP is down?, your cost structure, and your region.
Frappe Cloud may not be flexible regarding its underlying cloud provider, but hosting the Frappe Framework is certainly flexible enough because you can pay using any of the following payment methods:
Only option 3.a comes with ease of mind and OEM warranty. The others usually come with hard-learned lessons.
I don’t think Odoo offers this level of flexibility in payment flexibility.
That said, Frappe Cloud doesn’t suit every use case. In one of my instances, we have a normal database size (~300 MB) that easily fits within the lowest or second-lowest plan, but a file storage size of ~400 GB, which is 10x what the highest plan allows. So yes, in edge cases like this, it can be somewhat limiting.
To Share My sentiments, and recommendation. One of the biggest issue with “Expensive comment” is mainly on the Storage space on Frappe Cloud. Maybe something could be Done fo r Disk Storage. i persoanlly feel $50 for 50 GB Disk Storage, IS sgnificantly low, considering how much storage has gone down in pricing.
Now How ERPnext could Solve this Problem. They could allow one to add additional paid storage, as an Option, and additional, Remain on same plan, pay abit more for more storage.
They Could Offer Additional Storage on Existing Plans. if it makes business sense for them.
Especially for the $25, Pricing Plans and Above. (i honestly don’t get the $38 pricing tier)
On Matetrs to do with Bring your Own Server Infra. People do have 3 Server Cluster on Proxmox, running on Hetzner, or other providers, and in some cases on premise. which could be more reliable than contabo, but way cheaper than AWS, or even Frappecloud. Trust me, i am an expert in this subject.
What Frappe could do, Instead of Sending this Customers away packing, to SelfDeploy Press on their infrasturcture, (leaving money on the table) They could Allow them to Bring their Own VPS, but still USe FrappeCloud to manage their server infrastructure, While charging them a fee for the convenience.
The Custome ris happy, they are using their server for more robust resources, if they can manage their server effectively. and Frappe, still makes some Money, for continued support of building press. Win win.
even if $25 is charged, per Node. you get Money without lifting a finger or managing the infrastructure resources yourself.
i think there is room for a 4th option.
Allow frappecloud function as Dokploy or coolify for erpnext Onprem/ selfhosted options. which offers both peace of mind, flexibility, ownership, cost performance value, and frappe still gets something in their pocket.

The reason why Odoo is gaining mometum is because of thier pricing and its pyschological , clients will not even see its more expensive than ERPNext
