Why the purchase invoice does not affect the item stock value?

I made a purchase order, then a purchase receipt with the rate in purchase order, but when I got the invoice there was a little difference in the item price from my purchase order rate, after submitting the invoice I found the stock value still having the purchase order rate not the (actual) invoice rate.

I think it should change the stock value to the invoice rate to affect my actual stock value.

Dear HF,

Item stock valuation is updated based on rate in Purchase Receipt. Its because purchase receipt is made only for stock item whereas purchase invoice can be made for stock as well as services items which has no valuation in reality.

Again, stock valuation should get update as soon as you receive goods in your warehouse. This will give you correct valuation of stock-in-hand. Purchase Invoice can be made before material receipt which will not give exact valuation of stock at give time.

Hope this helps.
