Will I be able to install ERPNext in Raspberry Pi 3 with Linux?

Hello,
I recently bought an Raspberry Pi 3 and would like to use it as a local server for ERPNext. I know that it would be very difficult to install it using Raspbian, but what about Linux on RPi3?

Raspbian is a fork of Debian which is Linux based. I don’t think anyone else has installed ERPNext on a Raspberry Pi 3, but it shouldn’t be too different than installing it on a Debian system.

However, the performance won’t be really good because of the lack of processing power, and you might face some issues trying to install it.

However, if you do try it out (and I think you should for the sake of experimentation!) do let us know the result.

I mean Ubuntu 14.04 LTS

Regarding performance the RPi3 has 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core

I´ll try.

DId you manage to do it?

No, there are some packages that dont work with ARM processors.

We will be able to install entire framework and database on the board, but the only problem with it will be the performance. But we can use it as something like POSBOX in the ODOO. Even that will be an achievement. With barcode scanners, printers, and cash drawers it will be a very good tool.

I have managed to install ERPNext on Pi3, using automated installation. The script failed installing mariadb-server and mariadb-client, and had to use sudo aptitude install manually. I am yet to test perfomance but it seems to be slow but usable.

FYI, there is a detail post showing how to install ERPNext on Raspberry Pi at http://phamviet.net/how-to-install-erpnext-on-raspberry-pi-running-raspbian/

Great! What about performance?

Hi,

You can consider this:
