The workstation working hours are set for example from 8.30am to 5pm, but when timesheet is created the timing of the timesheet can be anything (e.g. start from 7pm to 11pm) even outside the working hours.
The system does prompt when the number of hours is longer than the total no. of working hours (e.g. 8 hours a day) to ask user to split into 2 rows instead.
Is this supposedly to work this way?

Yes you have to divide it into multiple operations if number of hours is greater than working hours.
