ERPNext use in hospital or clinic

@rmehta Any updates on adding it to core?
I mean, Hospital Module i.e. GitHub - ESS-LLP/smarte: smarteCare - Frappe modules for healthcare management !!

@Ranjith Can I add this as an app?

I mean
bench get-app https://github.com/ESS-LLP/smarte.git
bench --site site1.local install-app Hospital_Management

or have to create another bench and have to add site?

Hi @aaimaa,
The repo smarte is depricated. We have raised PR #8498.
We hope the features will be available in the core soon.
BTW if you wanna try out install erpnext in a new bench from GitHub - ESS-LLP/erpnext-healthcare: Open Source ERP built for the Web. Uses Python, MariaDB.

Ranjith

Hello,

This is Dr. Ahmad Najjar PhD in Medical Informatics, I’m interested to give you the Right requirements to build your new solution and to cover patient and provider workflow.

If you can present what you have for the time being, so I could have better understanding.

My Advice for you guys, Healthcare system should be build around patient (Patient based system) not for the hospital (Organizational Based System).

Thank you
Ahmad

Hi @Ahmad and @akurungadam

I don’t know if would be useful this project for seeing features and if it is built around patient: http://health.gnu.org

Maybe can getting a few features from it for adding them to smarteCare.

Thanks

GNU Health have all data (except Ophthamology that’s a module for reference) from World Health Organization (WHO):

  • WHO Essential Medicines [1]
  • ICD10 [2]
  • ICD10PCS [3]
  • ICPM [4]
  • Drug Administration Routes [5]
  • Health Specialties [5]
  • Medicament Form [5]
  • Medication Frequencies [5]
  • Occupations [5]
  • Pathology Groups [5]
  • Lab Test Data [6]
  • Life Style [7]
  • Pediatrics Growth Charts WHO [8]
  • Inpatient Diets [9]

It considers Ophthalmology too [10].

All of the data are in XML format. I hope they can be useful for your great project smarteCare.

Author of GNU Health project is Dr. Luis Falcon who is Computer Scientist too. He is the main maintainer of the project. If he has both careers, I think GNU Health is built thinking in patient.

Please note that GNUhealth is not web based application. So this made it not good to be used in the market special that most of business now is built on web based.
Another thing, it does not have mobile application.

Hi @bghayad

You can see in the thread of conversation: “Maybe can getting a few features from it for adding them to smarteCare”.

I didn’t say about using it.

Thanks

@fabyc
Agree.

@Ranjith

HI, I’ve tried bench get-app to the new repo, but I keep getting a “Directory not empty” error (39). I’ve even tried the erpnext-healthcare, with the same result.

@Mohd_Ridzuan_Isa
Looks like you already have the ERPNext app installed. You can either remove the existing app or point upstream to erpnext health care repo and do a bench update

got generally interested in the field due to a request for impementation of an ERP System for a chain vet clinic. Now going though all topics in this regards and naturally got interested in this. Some questions:

  1. is there any progress with integrating with the ERPNext core (as mentioned several times in this topic here)?
  2. Are you aware of (or even in contact with, or related to) the project by @noetico mentioned in this topic? (If not … would it make sense to join forces?)

merge started some time back -
https://discuss.frappe.io/t/health-information-system-codesprint-at-kozhikode-on-may-3-5/22956
pull request under review, waiting for documentation to complete (expected by the coming week, possibly) -
https://github.com/frappe/erpnext/pull/9712

of course, that’s the idea

https://smartehis.com

thanks, I went through a first demo session already

thanks for the update, PR seems ready to merge, so apparently healthcare module should be available in the core pretty soon. well Done.

I guess in case my request goes through (which is in pretty hypothetical state yet) I should be pretty active in that regards soon. As it is a vet clinic in my scenario, I guess some things may not fit 100% (Customer/Patient relation i.e)

BTW: … I send a little contribution on the bounty for this and would recommend to anybody (@bghayad, @Mohd_Ridzuan_Isa, @fabyc, @Ahmad [just to name a few participants in this thread here]) who is interested in that functionality to do the same.
