New Production Plan - making material request only for quantities needed

I was excited to load version 11 for the new production plan. I just tried it, and was optimistic when I saw the table populated with the BOM quantity (“Quantity”), and the quantity on hand (“Actual Qty”). But when I generate the materials request, it does it for the BOM quantity, not what’s needed (BOM quantity minus quantity on hand).

Please let me know how to do this. I can’t imagine there isn’t a way. Why would I always want to order the exact BOM quantity? Often, I will order in volume for a particular component and not always need to order the BOM-listed quantity for every item. I can’t imagine this isn’t possible.

Am I missing something for it to work properly? Is anyone else successfully able to use the Production Plan to order just the needed quantities?
