Why is Item Code mandatory in Quotation?

Hello,

While making a quotation, as a trading company, many times we are quoting items for one time only, so it's not worth it to spend time in creating an item for it. But in quotation page, we have to select an item from Items List, so it became mandatory to create this one time item. Can you explain why is it so? and is there a way around creating many useless items in Items List?

Best regards,
Ahmed

Ok this is slightly off topic, but profits come from repeatability and repeatability comes from standardization. In any business, you must standardize and Item Codes is the right place to start.

We want to help you increase your profits :)

Ahmed,

As a workaround, you can create a common Item Code like "Adhoc Item" and change Item Name and Description every time you make a Quotation.

Thanks,
Anand.
