I have successfully self-hosted a multi-cluster Frappe Cloud setup using Press.

Now, I have a question regarding cluster migration.

I currently have a Germany region cluster, but I’m planning to decommission it. I want to move all my benches and sites to the Finland region before dropping the Germany servers.

My current plan is:

  1. Add the Finland region to each bench.
  2. Transfer all sites from Germany to Finland.
  3. Once verified, remove the Germany servers.

Is this the recommended and safest approach?

Alternatively, I noticed there’s a “Change Server” option available for each site:

@corentin , would using the “Change Server” option be a safer and more efficient method for migrating sites between regions before decommissioning a cluster?

Your insights would be greatly appreciated!

My input doesn’t relate to cluster migration but make sure that you have backed up your press site encryption key very carefully, if you accidentally lose that and something happens to your press server, you will go through hell especially if you’re in production env it get even worse.

To support that, I’m pushing all backups along with the configuration file to the S3 bucket

Hi @AWS, I’ve been trying to get cloud dashboard to work but I can’t install a site or do basically anything from the dashboard but from press I can do all that. I have seen you figured out how to do it as you had a similar issue before. Do you have any pointers as to how you achieved it? I have searched for all resources, but nothing works.

@AWS Thank you for replying, I went through all that and press is running well. I can create sites, install apps etc. The issue I am having is that on the cloud dashboard I can’t create a site etc because there are no regions or site plan present

For Regions: Edit Cluster Doctype.
For Site: Create Site Plan.
You have to be careful while creating site plan. Then only you can create sites.
